Gallup Europe’s latest News
Gallup is to introduce the history’s largest social research project in Brussels
As the world is rapidly changing, leaders require direct, immediate, and timely access to their constituents’ opinions. In the largest undertaking of its kind, The Gallup Organization is measuring the well-being and overall status of the world's citizens for the next 100 years. Continually polling 95% of the Earth's adult population, the Gallup World Poll provides access to the voices, hearts, and minds of citizens in more than 130 countries and territories. Asking the same core questions across nations over time enables leaders to compare data and identify emerging trends. Such a comparative survey of so many nations with rigorously harmonised methodology has never been available for global citizenry and decision-makers.
The Gallup World Poll provides a unique perspective for assessing the non-economic performance of the nations and their leadership by annually measuring a series of key indicators including leadership, law and order, food and shelter, work, economic outlook, health, well-being, and citizen engagement.
Additionally, Gallup World Poll created a comprehensive access portal to the collected information that incorporates the World Bank’s World Development Indicators databank, which helps to put the Gallup “World Path” indicators in context with traditional performance indicators of the nations, such as brain gain or per capita GDP. The resulting insights are vital to understanding and making decisions in the rapidly shifting global landscape. In developing, analyzing, and deploying information from the Gallup World Poll data, Gallup relies on the expertise of a panel of world-renowned scientists. Immediate access to the voice of the people is available through membership to a state-of the-art, Web-based portal.
World Poll data can be used to:
• validate past investments, policies, and strategies
• identify trends to plan for the future
• establish reference points for integration with media analysis and other open source intelligence
• provide time-efficient, numerical scanning on the status of national conditions
• understand the broad context of national interests to better interpret daily reports
• provide metrics to enable comparison and trending across nations and over time
• obtain leading indicators of social, economic, and political change
Through the largest ongoing social research project in history – and with technology so sophisticated, it is simple – the Gallup World Poll is the key to unlocking the answers to the world's most pressing structural issues. The results of this massive ongoing research project are distilled into an elegant and easy-to-use application. Membership in Gallup's World Poll provides access to a state-of-the-art, Web-based portal. The application allows members to perform detailed searches, track key indexes, compare World Poll data, and access the latest information on what citizens worldwide are thinking and feeling.
The official launch of the Gallup World Poll in Europe will take place during a workshop on world monitoring and the Balkan Monitor in our office on October 13th. The event will gather EU officials, policy makers, trade associations, NGOs, and representatives of the media.
