EMPLOYMENT WEEK

June 24-25, 2009: Robert Manchin to speak at the 2009 Employment Week Annual Conference in Brussels.

With unemployment levels rising throughout Europe, skills development is a priority for all - companies and citizens alike. The 2009 Employment Week Annual Conference will focus on how levels of employment can be increased and what is needed to make change happen.

During the plenary sessions, Robert Manchin will present an overview of job conditions and employment issues based on Eurobarometer and Gallup World Poll data. His presentation will include data on:

  • An assessment of wellbeing in Europe, US and the BRICs as perceived by the citizens and the future outlook for personal socio-economic conditions
  • The situation regarding work conditions, business conditions and entrepreneurship in those countries with a special emphasis on the EU
  • The level of employee engagement in the EU vs. the US vs. the BRICs
  • A look at the social realities in 20 years time for EU citizens.
